Lewis Steer vet and Clinical Director joined the Buchan and Deveron Veterinary group earlier this year. He looks after all of the practices in the group to ensure smooth running and excellent clinical care of your pets. Lewis is passionate about giving our clients and their pet’s the very best service and providing outstanding out of hours emergency care.
He has two dogs, Toby and Nell, and also two budgies. Lewis looks forward to treating all of your special pets.

Kristijonas Avizenis MRCVS DVM MSc
Veterinary Surgeon
Kris graduated from Lithuanian university of Health Sciences at the beginning of 2022. He was visiting Scotland in 2019 to perform clinical practice and always wanted to return.
Kris joined our team in June 2022, his goal is to specialise in small animal veterinary dentistry.
In his free time, Kris enjoys to explore Scotland with his two dogs and wife who is a veterinary surgeon.

Carole Brizuela BVM&S MSc MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Carole qualified from Edinburgh University in 1982, after a stint in mixed practice returned to do an MSc and worked in South America for 6 years carrying out diagnostics and research. Whilst raising her children she did locum work before settling into academia, initially at the Royal Veterinary College and then Harper Adams University.
Carole retired and moved to Aberdeenshire in 2021, we were delighted to have Carole join the team at the Turriff Practice earlier this year.
Outside of work, Carole has been busy renovating her house, and enjoying riding her horse.

Vicky Hewett BVSc MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Vicky qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1992 and worked in mixed practice in West Yorkshire.
Whilst on holiday in Aberdeenshire in 1997 Vicky fell in love with the area and moved here in 1998 with her two dogs and cats. Vicky joined the team in 1999 as a mixed practitioner and now works part time as a small animal vet.
When not working Vicky enjoys swimming, cooking and wildlife. Over the years her pets have been replaced by a husband and two children!

Celia Landi BVMS MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Celia graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2022 and has recently joined the team. She has veterinary work experience in diverse contexts across the UK and France. With a special interest in small animal medicine, she looks forward to meeting all pets that come into the clinic!
When not working Celia enjoys being outdoors and loves swimming, hiking, and skiing and doing yoga

Lindsay Leonard DVM MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
Lindsay went to Ross Veterinary School in St.Kitts and then completed her final year at the Dick Vet in Edinburgh in 2019. Lindsay loved Scotland so much that when it was time to leave, she didn't want to and has been here ever since!
Lindsay enjoys spending her free time perfecting her banana bread recipe and hiking with her dogs and going horseback riding. Lindsay is an avid cat lover and would be over the moon to see any and all of your feline family members!

Liz Mallia MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
In 2022, Liz graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. During her first year as a veterinary surgeon, she worked in a mixed practice in Northern Ireland. In 2023, Liz moved to Scotland and joined the team here at Deveron vets.
Outside of work, Liz rides horses, ventures the countryside with her cat, and explores her artistic side by drawing and painting.

Wendy Sleigh BVMS MRCVS
Wendy joined the practice in 1990 and worked with Bob, Douglas, Hamish, Elizabeth and Helen. They were a great team and loved the work as mixed vets. Wendy is now a small animal vet, with a special interest in surgery. She is a mentor for New Graduate vets, as a VetGDP advisor Wendy supports the future of the profession.
Wendy has two sons, Harry & Stewie. In her spare time, she is a keen golfer and amateur photographer.
